Waiting List Application

How do I register my child on the Waiting List? Click here for Online Scout Manager waiting list application. Please provide all the details requested on the application form including your address.  You will receive an automated reply confirming receipt of your request. 

Age Restriction: You can only add your child’s name to the Waiting List when they reach 5 years old. Applications for children under 5 will be deleted.  

Catchment Area: We generally provide Scouting opportunities to young people living in the local area, as defined by Douglas Academy catchment area.  (There are no boundaries for our Explorer Section - there are more details in our Waiting List Policy - link below.)  There are 2 Scout Groups in Bearsden and 1 in Strathblane.  Find your nearest Group here: https://www.scouts.org.uk/groups/

How long is the wait? At the moment, both of our Beaver Colonies and our three Cub Packs are running at capacity. We can take in around 20 new Beavers per year but currently have about 80 on the Waiting List, so unfortunately, we are not able to offer everyone a place. 

When will I hear from you? We review waiting lists each term but can not provide updates on where your child is on the list.   We will only contact you once a place becomes available.

How do I update my details or remove my child from the Waiting List? The Waiting List details are handled by a web based tool called Online Scout Manager.    If your details change then you can access Online Scout Manager to update them.
