Frequently Asked Questions
How much is the subscription?
Our latest subscriptions are available here.
Where can I add and update my personal details?
We use a system called Online Scout Manager (OSM) where you can add and update personal information. It is essential that details about your child are added to this system before they can join their first session with us.
Where do I drop my child off?
Usually cubs are dropped off at the door of the Milngavie Scout Hall. On your child's first evening with us, please come inside and introduce yourself to the leaders.
Do you provide any food or snacks or should I pack these for my child?
No, we don't usually provide any food or snacks. We can provide water if any children need a drink.
Can parents stay?
You are welcome to stay at the start of the evening to ensure your child settles in. From time to time we might need some extra help with activities and meetings but we will always post this on OSM so please keep an eye out for requests. Your help and support is much appreciated.
My child is moving up from Beavers, how does this work?
We'll be in touch with a date and time to move into Cubs and we'll invite parents to a moving up ceremony to mark their transition from Beavers to Cubs.
What badges can my child earn as a Cub?
During their time at Cubs, your young person will be able to work towards a number of badges. Here is a full list of Cubs Awards and Cubs Activity Badges.
Where do I sew the badges onto the uniform?
You can see where all of the badges are placed onto uniforms here.
How does a young person officially become a Cub?
An Investiture is a ceremony where someone makes their Scout Promise, is welcomed to Cubs, and becomes a member of their Pack and the worldwide Scout family. You can read more about the Promise and the different version of the Promise here.

Good programme planning
Establishing routines and systems
Setting and maintaining consistent standards
